OS/400 i5/iOS IBM iOS

In accordance with IBM’s eServer initiative, the AS/400 hardware was rebranded in 2000 to appear as eServer iSeries. In 2006, this became the IBM System i. After 20 years of production, in 2008 the System-i and System-p product lines were combined to become IBM Power Systems.

IBM iOS (formerly known as i5/OS) running on a IBM Power Systems offers a highly scalable and virus resistant architecture with a proven reputation for exceptional business resiliency. Automation – IBM Systems Director Navigator for i now can be used to manage target servers running IBM iOS 5.4, 6.1 or 7.1 from a single browser environment

Virtualisation – support with PowerVM is extended to enable IBM iOS 6.1 to host iOS 7.1 partitions and storage. IBM iOS 7.1 can also host iOS 6.1 partitions, enabling companies to keep an application that requires an earlier release.
